Fellowship of the Way – an online pilgrimage

Tired of shallow debates, constant outrage, and spiritual burnout? Join the Fellowship of the Way – an online pilgrimage

Starting a journey of cultural and spiritual formation – first cohort started, in May, contact us for more info

Fellowship of the Way is a five-part online pilgrimage for people who long to grow spiritually based on the Great Books that shaped our culture. This journey will help you recover a sense of rootedness, clarity, and purpose. It is more than reading, it is discovering who you are and where you belong.

Join a growing group of Europeans who:

  • discover Great Books as living mentors,
  • practice slow reading and reflective journaling,
  • start a lifelong journey of formation,
  • join a group of fellow pilgrims who get your questions

This online pilgrimage gives you a solid five-part framework for formation. It helps you engage with the cultural and spiritual sources which shaped European culture. The pilgrimage is designed to help you integrate this in your personal life.

The Journey

On our journey, we will go through the five stages of discovery and integration.

1. The Departure

We start with a deep-dive into our culture, a diagnosis of why we often feel fragmented and lost. By making this spiritual inventory, we see clearly where we are now and what direction we take next.

2. The Companions

We get to know the great tradition that we are part of, we are not alone on this journey. We will meet some of our companions (Augustine, Benedict, Dante, Pascal, Tolkien, Lewis). You will also decide which core questions to carry with you–whether about meaning, suffering, beauty, loss, or truth.

3. The Road

We continue our journey and learn how to take time to let the text speak to us. You will notice emerging insights. It turns out that these old texts speak wisdom to us today. We will practice ‘deep reading’ and ‘reflective journaling.’

4. The Threshold

In this stage we learn how to grow deep roots, how to integrate what we have learned. This might require a choice or commitment. We write a rule of life or a personal manifesto.

5. The Return

Now that you have found a way, you can share your insights with others. You will discern how to continue walking on the Way, alone, as part of a community, or as a guide with others. You will also learn some practical ways of sharing what you have found.

“This pilgrimage isn’t for tourists. It’s for exiles, seekers, and cultural orphans who believe truth, goodness, and beauty are worth finding—even if that requires a journey.”

What you get

For each stage of the pilgrimage, you will get:

  • a teaching video
  • one assigned text (from the Great Books),
  • stage-specific reflective journaling prompts
  • and optional opportunities for sharing your discoveries,
  • all learning resources are delivered online during five weeks,
  • you can take as long as you like, you have lifetime access to all the resources,
  • you can start anytime.
  • Because this pilgrimage is still in beta, you pay only € 99. Later this year, the price will increase to €149.

Who is leading this pilgrimage?

My name is Jelle Huisman, and since 2007, I have been involved in Christian missions across Europe in teaching and leadership roles. I believe in ‘slow&deep’ because Christianity is not a quick fix for our felt needs. I have experience leading groups of people on a journey of discovery, both at home in The Netherlands, abroad, and online. I have designed this pilgrimage to share what I have learned along the way.

Are you ready?

The first cohort started in May. Use this form to let us know you are interested in joining the next group in July.
